ThaiFriendly is an easy-to-use website for helping you to find a Thai date. It’s relatively well-organised but doesn’t have all the features we’d hope to find. Whilst it claims to be the biggest free Thai dating site around, you will have to upgrade if you want to make any real progress, which we’ll explain now.

It’s always a bit of a disappointment to find out that something free isn’t really very good. This is a problem with ThaiFriendly, as although it does offer a free membership option, this option is very limited and only allows you to send a small number of messages before you’ll need to upgrade.

As such, the free membership feels a little flat, as though really it’s a lure to get you to upgrade. Okay this isn’t that surprising, but there are other dating sites which allow you a bit more freedom without having to shell out any cash.

So, that aside, what is the site like? Well you’ll find plenty of attractive members online at any time. When we logged on there were several thousand ready and willing to chat, and the site claims there are over 500,000 members. How many of these use the site regularly is another question, but the numbers look good on paper at least.

Sorting through these profiles could be a pain, but the gallery view does help somewhat. Here you can see plenty of profile pictures with very basic information under each which includes their username, whether they’re online, their age and location.

If you hover over a member’s thumbnail photo you can click to add them to a list of your favorite members, to initiate a chat or to send a love heart as a way of flirting.

You can click on photos to zoom in and explore their portfolio, and members are able to comment on photos and profiles so you can leave your thoughts. You may also add photos to your favorites folder which can be explored again later.

Profiles are basic but provide enough information to get the basics. However, we would like to see a bit more personality on each page as most of the information is taken up with the member’s vital statistics, which is quite boring. That said, many of the members have taken the time to upload high quality photos, and plenty of them. 

What’s lacking from this site is an array of features. You can pretty much just browse or search, and then message people or talk in an instant chat. Video features, games, forums and chat rooms would really help to add another element to the website and overall online dating experience. At the moment it just feels a bit underdeveloped. 

If you’re looking for attractive Thai dates then this has quite a bounty to explore. The site itself isn’t the most exciting, but it does have the members. Why not check out the free membership and decide for yourself whether or not it’s worth upgrading your account to a premium package?
