Asia Friend Finder is our No. 1 rated product in the Asian Dating category. It states that its purpose is to "make it as easy as possible for you to meet people using the power of the internet."The site excels in this respect by offering several powerful features, including the ability to refine your search to within precise parameters; they also often add fun features to enhance the experience of using the site.  AsiaFriendFinder's excellent range of features means that you could spend lots of time, happily interacting with people on the site.

 Value for money is excellent, starting at  one month's membership for £10.68 it is also quite tempting.  The free membership package allows you test out the services before you subscribe, and then tempts you to upgrade to improve the quality of your online dating experience.  As a free member you have access to all the main features such as secure anonymous e-mail, create a profile and upload photos, match making e-mail service, sending and receiving 'winks', instant messenger (live video chat with sound), text chat, and discussion boards and forums.  The more money you spend, the better search facilities are available to you.  Paying members also receive priority telephone support, wider access to members' videos and are more prominently displayed in member searches.

A word of warning about clicking wantonly on the "language" button. If you or your PC can't read Chinese - it is very difficult to get back to English, and you end up with a screen full of soduku numbers and hieroglyphics and no "back to English" button.  We sent in a comment to the web master about this glitch.. Admirably, they replied within a couple of hours and set the problem straight.  Here was their advice:

1. Login to your account with your handle and password.
2. Click on the "My/Our Account" link at the top of the homepage.
3. Click on "Other Preferences" found under the "Preferences" section.
4. Scroll down to the "Language" section and click on the language of your choice.

As with all online dating, No.1 Reviews recommends you exercise reasonable caution when making contact, and also  make sure the site offers secure payment options.  Asian dating sites seem to operate for quite different purposes, and whereas AsiaFriendFinder is open to a wide demographic, some seem to be more set up for mail order bride style arrangements, and are biased towards western men seeking the stereotype Eastern women who will be grateful to find a western man to "cook, and clean for".  Nevertheless, these sites are pretty transparent, and you will quickly notice their different aims.

Some of the other sites in this category removed our test profile on grounds of lack of content.  Whilst on the one hand, this meant good marks for profile screening, on the other it meant we did not have full access to the site for research purposes.  The sites that removed our 'fake' profile, or did not allow members to register without a genuine looking photograph or in-depth personal information were AsianEuro.com, AsianRomance.com, AsianGF.com, YourAsianConnection.com and Asians4Asians.com.  No.1 Reviews has something to say on this matter within each of those reviews, as it gave a valuable insight into the way the products worked and were managed.  AsiaFriendFinder.com did allow a limited 'fake' profile to be posted, and it was not rejected at a later date.  None of the three sites in this category that are 100% free to register rejected our test profile.  It is possible that once you have finished browsing as a free member, and take out the subscription, the screening process kicks in in earnest,  i.e. you get what you pay for.

Asian Friend Finder's Help Files, FAQ page and customer service are pretty impressive, as is the level of recent activity from members all around the world.  The blogs, discussion boards and live chat are all  buzzing with activity which is the best sign of a healthy web site and the best chance of getting a date.  

As with all the Friend Finder dating sites, you can create a Friends network, so if you have met someone, say for example through telling a joke on the discussion board, you can stay in touch with your dating buddies.  There is the option of deleting all members in this list with inactive profiles immediately, so this keeps things fresh.  The site had 6,550,143 members while we were online, 48 of whom were chatting live, an estimate that is updated every 24 hours. 

With its large population of active members, broad range of powerful features, excellent value for money, and admirable customer support, AsiaFriendFinder.com is by far the best site in the category; in fact, none of its competitors even come close!
