Filipino Cupid is part of the Cupid Media network, which means you’ll get the same top services and features as you’ll find on other dating sites they run, such as AsianDating.com. That’s great to know, but what are the differences? Well there are a few, and they’re subtle, but it might make all the difference as to whether you’d enjoy using this site over its sisters. The biggest clue as to the differences between these sites can be found in the website name: yes, you guessed it, this site is primarily focused on helping people to find Filipino dates. Or, if you’re Filipino yourself perhaps you’re looking to meet someone from elsewhere who has an interest in your culture and personality. Either way, there’s plenty to like.

You might expect that a site with a particular focus such as “Filipino” members might have a decreased membership. However, quite cleverly this has been somewhat overcome by the site’s creators, who allow you to send and receive messages with paying members even if you’re not a paying member yourself. This is unusual but it means that profiles often get used even when the users aren’t signed up for a contract.

If you do decide to upgrade then the ball’s in your court when it comes to getting in touch with people as you can initiate conversations and free members can reply to your messages.

If you’re interested in instant messaging or video chat, however, you’ll need to upgrade. We’ll come to the cost of that in a moment, but firstly it’s important to think about what you’re after and which features might benefit.

You get considerably more features upgrading from basic (free) membership up to Platinum membership, the most important of which is probably video chat. This means that, using a webcam, you’ll be able to talk face-to-face and voice-to-voice with other users, which is great if you want to make things a bit more personal.

Prices for Filipino Cupid are actually a bit higher than AsianDating.com, although we’re not too sure why. Still, costs are fair and competitive, particularly since the website does such a good job generally.

There were almost 4000 members online when we logged on, so there’s plenty of choice. Plus, searches can be specific and still throw up plenty of results, so even the pickiest of members can find someone to suit them.

Searching is very easy and can be as basic or in depth as you prefer, with the ability to save your preferences so you don’t need to keep putting the same information in.

Results are well displayed and the profile pages offer enough information on each member for you to get a sense of what they’re all about before you contact them.

Photos tend to be pretty decent in terms of quality although some are better than others. This could be better monitored by the staff but on a whole you won’t find loads of terrible pictures or long-lost profile pages.

Since this site offers a generous free membership option we’d recommend trying it out. If you then decide to upgrade we feel that the prices are fair, and that you stand a good chance of finding a Filipino date. Best of luck.
